The amount of electric vehicles on the road today seems to be growing almost daily! However, what is a good electric vehicle without an all-wheel-drive system for those that need it. In this article, we are going to detail all 41 electric vehicles that have all-wheel-drive either as standard, optional! That way, you can easily get from “point A” to “point B” safely, even in the snow or rain.

Since there are so many different vehicles now, we are splitting them up by electric SUVs, Sedans, Coupes and even Trucks, and then sorting them by their entry level price point. Then we will also be letting you know our favorites, to see if that might work for you as well!

Ford Mustang Mach E GT: Our favorite electric SUV with AWD

Alright, so the Mustang Mach E wasn’t exactly the Mustang that everyone wanted. However, if you put aside the “Mustang” nameplate, this is an extremely compelling electric SUV with AWD. It sets itself apart as being both efficent, but also a great looking vehicle. After adopting many of the design signatures from the Mustang Sports Car, it added to it with an electric powertrain, an extra set of doors and a crossover build.

The GT version is of course my favorite, as it has a 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds, 480 horsepower, and of course more aggressive styling than the standard version you see above. It also offers a range of 270 miles on a full charge, and for the 2023 model year, they have added Blue Cruise and a new performance edition of the GT.

Rimac Nivera: Our favorite electric Sports Car with AWD

There aren’t many electric sports cars right now with AWD, which leaves us with Hypercars. My favorite of the bunch as to be the Rimac Nivera! You might know that Rimac has been making hypercars for quite some time, with the Nivera being the newest one, however, what you might not know is that they recently purchased Bugatti, of which we are all excited to see what is developed from that partnership.

That said, the Nivera is an incredbile vehicle, with a top speed of 258 miles per hour, and gets to 60 miles per hour in just 1.85 seconds. This is done via its full-electric drivetrain with motors at each wheel (this gives it the AWD system) with 1813 horsepower (yes, you read that right), and 1,741 pound feet of torque.

Of course that massive amount of horsepower is followed up by a massive price tag at a starting price of $2.4 million dollars. I don’t expect to see many of these running around town.

What Electric Trucks have AWD?

VehicleMSRP
Ford F-150 Lightning$46,974.00
Rivian R1T$67,500.00
GMC Hummer EV$108,700.00

Rivian R1T: Our Favorite electric truck with AWD

We never thought an electric pickup would hit the road, after most every manufacturer of these trucks saw delay after delay. However, that has all changed! With trucks like the GMC Hummer, Ford F-150 Lightning and others starting to show up on public roads regularly, there is one that stands out as our favorite one, especially with AWD.

That would be the Rivian R1T! This truck is extremely capable in so many ways, ranging from an efficient daily driver, to being an off-road beast (which is awesome for Overlanding) that rivals veterans in the space like the the Jeep Wrangler. It has super car performance (0-60 in around 3 second, up to 835 horsepower, and 908 pound feet of torque) which gives many high end sports cars a run for their money.

Some of my favorite features are the gear tunnel that sits in front of the rear wheels, and behind the rear doors, its luxurious interior, and of course the fact that it has a fantastic, and usable bed in the back.

What Electric Sedans have AWD?

VehicleMSRP
Volkswagen ID.4$37,495.00
Hyundai Ioniq 5$39,950.00
Tesla Model 3$46,990.00
Polestar 2$48,400.00
BMW i4$65,900.00
Porsche Taycan$86,700.00
Lucid Air$87,400.00
Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo$93,700.00
Mercedes-Benz EQS-Sedan$104,400.00
Audi e-Tron GT$104,900.00
Tesla Model S$104,990.00
Porsche Taycan 4S$106,500.00
BMW i7$119,300.00

Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo: Our favorite electric sedan with AWD

Yes, with names like the Tesla Model S, BMW i7, and even the Lucid Air on this list, you might be surprised that I would select the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo. For me, it really comes down to the fact that this Porsche is a wagon! This makes it incredibly usable both as a daily driver, but also gives you flexibility in being able to take stuff with you on-the-go.

With up to 616 horsepower, this family wagon gets up and goes to 60 miles per hour in as little as 2.4 seconds, making it a blast to drive, while being practical as well. You of course also can’t get around the fact that this vehicle looks great, mixing perfectly the balance between the traditional styling we are used to in the Porsche 911 and the futuristic styling that electric cars bring to the plate.

Conclusion

I hope that this article helped you with a starting point on your shopping journey for an AWD electric vehicle! This list has 40 different options at the moment, ranging from a budget minded Chevrolet Equinox EV to the crazy hypercars that are the Rimac Nivera and even the Lotus Evija.
